(Google adwords) Tools of church advertising

By writejbear

Christian church advertising like all the other forms of advertising has many tools which help an advertiser to promote a particular church in a more effective way. These tools are broadly classified on the basis of the medium used, which includes print, radio, television and outdoor.

Here, these tools are further classified into various forms, which we will discuss one by one. First of all comes print. All the advertisements published in the printed format come under this. These ads are supplied to the readers with some other form of reading. For illustration newspaper ads, pamphlets, magazine ads, brochures, etc

In newspaper advertisements, the advertiser first of all has to select the publication or the newspaper with suits their target audience. For instances, if the church desires to target the youths of the community, the advertisements must appear on the youth pages or in the supplement of the most popular newspaper. In this case, if one selects a financial newspaper, then there will be more chances of wasting the ad money rather than getting the desired effect.

Similar is the case with the magazine. A magazine paper is glossier and hence on it an ad can come with more clarity and affects the psyche of the reader and stays in it for the comparatively longer period of time. This has also to do with the studying patterns of the magazine. The magazine is usually read in the more leisure periods of the day while the newspaper is thing to get the news on the run. So, while studying a magazine, an individual is more alert and devotes more attention to a particular church ad.

A pamphlet is a much cheaper way of promoting a particular product or an organization but its reach is as well limited. For instance, where a newspaper reaches the entire state/ province or the region, pamphlets are usually made for a particular community. They are usually inserted in the newspaper and are distributed with them.

Though brochures don’t actually come under the category of advertising but they are again a strong way of promoting the product, Christian church in this case. A brochure can focus on the ideology of the church and its history in the more elaborate way, whereas in other forms of advertising, they could precisely touch on the topic and in some cases not even that. Likewise, brochures of other products/ institutes can have the church advertisement.

The other media used are the radio and television. Radio and television, both as the medium are expensive than the print and hence an advertiser has no liberty of offering details about the Christian church and as well as its history. Simultaneously, an advertiser who is working on an audio-visual ad for TV, have to say re-emphasize the words of an advertisement with the visuals and make a viewer believe that whatever the ad is claiming is true.

Radio is further more challenging as it is a blind medium; and in that, with the words only an advertiser or the announcer has to get hold of the listeners. A Christian church ad that plainly states the actuality and urges listeners to come won’t generally do with the people. They usually are on the look for more compelling words and voice.
